Watertech inspires a culture of teamwork and accountability. We do our best to live our values; holding ourselves, each other, and our institution to a high standard.
Our Committment
Our team is committed to improving the quality of life for those in our community and having a positive impact on environmental sustainability. To help achieve our goals we partner with organizations that align with our philanthropic priorities to create a lasting positive impact for those around us.
Community Engagement
Below are some of the groups we partner with to make a difference.
Watertech sponsors a scholarship in honor of our founder Eugene Vanden Heuvel. The scholarship goes to a Graduate level student studying in the field of Freshwater Sciences.
Watertech participates in Milwaukee Riverkeepers Adopt-A-River program. Trash gets into our rivers in a lot of different ways: stormwater runoff, littering, strong winds, or illegal dumping. No matter how small, any piece of trash can have a big impact on fish and other aquatic animals.Watertech is committed to cleaning our adopted river twice per year; each spring and fall.
Trash that we pulled out of our adopted river, Honey Creek. That is a lot of cans, plastic, styrofoam, etc.
Watertech purchases CannedWater4kids (CW4K) for use in our training center and makes donations to the organization.
Proceeds from CW4K support:
Drinking Water Projects – Support projects that deliver sustainable clean water including the digging of wells and water purification solutions in areas where they are needed most.
Disaster Relief – Send emergency water when needed. To date CW4K has sent over 3M cans to people in Haiti, New Jersey, Japan, Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and Michigan.
Education – Provide support for programs that spread the word about the growing clean water crisis, water conservation, the importance and benefits of recycling, and how to make informed, healthy decisions about your drinking water.
Feeding America works collaboratively with our members, volunteers, community leaders and other partners to ensure people not only have enough healthy, nutritious food to eat, but also have the resources to build a pathway to stability. Watertech hosts food drives to help support those in our community.
The photo above shows a small portion of what our team collected. Watertech as a company matched this donation before dropping it off at Feeding America.
Watertech sponsors and participates in Run 4 Water Milwaukee, an event that supports UWM's chapter of Engineers Without Borders. All proceeds are used to build projects in rural Guatemala, bringing potable water to communities that lack access.
Some of our team members participated in the run virtually. Those pictured above were at the in-person 5K at the Milwaukee lake front. Even some Watertech babies and dogs showed up to support the cause.
