Meet the Team – Employee spotlight: Jon Tiegs, Vice President.

Q. Before working at Watertech, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
A. My first career path was working at Pizza Hut. However, I had to change paths when I didn’t pass the assistant manager test.
Q. How did you first learn about Watertech?
A. I met with two people from Watertech in the early 2000s. I had been involved in helping another company take some business from them. 6-7 years later, after a job change, I ended up meeting the Watertech owners at a tradeshow in Colorado Springs. Instead of buying from me they hired me.
Q. How do you balance your career at Watertech and family?
A. I really have no idea.
Q. Any favorite line from a movie?
A. Several from Shawshank Redemption, but they have bad words so probably won’t be appropriate for a professional profile.
Q. Do you have an office nickname? What is it? Ask my coworkers.
A. I haven’t heard them call me names.
Q. Do you recall any embarrassing moment at work?
A. I came back from vacation and someone had left a breath mint on my keyboard.  Nice hint. :)
Q. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
A. I have been told I look like Daniel Craig.
Q. If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and why?
A. Abraham Lincoln. Stood for what he believed when many were against him. He believed he knew what was best for his country and did it.
Q. What does true leadership mean to you?
A. Helping the people you work with.
Q. What is the last joke you recall?
A. Did you hear about the movie “Constipation”?  It hasn’t come out yet. (Told to me by my 11 year old daughter.  Couldn’t be more proud).
Q. What is the one thing you cannot resist?
A. Brach’s Jelly Beans. Orange Slices. My wife’s warm chocolate cookies. Do you see a trend?
Q. Where is the most interesting place that you have lived?
A. Dakar, Senegal.
Q. What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
A. That the school stuff is actually important.
Q. You’re happiest when?
A. I’m with my family.
Q. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
A. Nap
Q. At what age did you become an adult?
A. I’ll let you know when it happens.
