Chlorine Dioxide
Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) has long been recognized as a very effective biocide, sterilizer and bleaching agent for large-scale applications. It is approved and recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a safe and environmentally friendly drinking water additive to replace chlorine (which forms carcinogenic by-products).
ClO2 is a stable dissolved gas which, with minimal contact time, is highly effective against pathogenic organisms such as Legionella, Giardia cysts, E. coli and Cryptosporidium. ClO2 destroys biofilms and significantly impedes bacterial regrowth. It is effective over a wide pH range.
Federal law prohibits the transportation of ClO2; it must be produced at point of use. To accomplish this on-site production, the DIOX system is a new, self-contained generator that provides for the safe, continuous production of this highly effective biocide. The DIOX system brings economical ClO2 to a large group of new users for whom the high cost and complexity of generating equipment has been prohibitive.
